A Different Approach
With the launch of our virtual tax preparation platform, we strive to make you feel confident in letting us be a part of your financial future. At Williams Tax, preparation and tax planning does not end on April 15th. In fact, many of our clients frequently call throughout the year and we are always there to help with their questions or concerns.
Typically, after tax season, we do not charge a fee for call-in advice, as we have built this into our preparation fee.
Unfortunately, there are situations that may arise in which we must charge a fee, but this will be agreed upon before going forward.

Though our services are divided into basic areas of tax preparation, tax planning, and financial planning, we treat all our clients as individuals and don’t believe in a one-sized-fits-all mentality. We’ll help you to navigate the ever-changing tax laws and maximize your refunds.
ABOUT US
Williams Tax was established – July 1996 by owner Robert Williams. Mr. Williams initially worked for a regional accounting firm prior to setting out on his own. He is a US Marine Veteran and a graduate of Morehead State University with a B.A. in Business Accounting. Williams Tax has provided a full line of accounting services to businesses and individuals from small employers to medium sized companies.
This background and diversity, in serving different business professions helps in the most complex of tax matters. Williams Tax has prepared over 25,000 individual tax returns over the last 25 years and is still going strong as solid brick and mortar office.
With the change in individual lifestyles and needs, Williams Tax has chosen to implement a virtual tax preparation service that will focus on quality and not quantity. With an excellent staff and the knowledge and ability to prepare all state tax returns, our focus will be on busy professionals who need tax preparation services with tax/financial planning advice, but little time to do so.
Through our professionally designed online format, we ensure the security of all of our clients’ personal tax information.

Our Process
The Virtual Tax platform will only be available for individual tax preparation and small business returns. This is not because we are unable to accomplish other tasks; We feel that it will be better for you, the taxpayer, and us to limit our services to a smaller subset of clients. Trying to be everything to everyone only creates more room for error.

INITIAL CONTACT
Customer contacts office via email or telephone call. Staff will ask a few simple questions to determine compatibility with our program.

ZOOM SESSION
If the clients needs are compatibile with the services that we offer, a Zoom call will be scheduled with one of our senior accountants. Tax documents from the prior year will need to be uploaded to our secure portal before the Zoom call.

FORMAL ENGAGEMENT
The scheduled Zoom call is a meet and greet, no different than a normal office visit. We will discuss specific needs and pricing for returns before the meeting is finished. If the client is interested, a formal engagement letter will be prepared for signatures and 50% of fee will be paid up front for new clients.

COMPLETION
Upon completion, we will email copies of your return, for review, through our secure portal.
